Summer Language Development Academy
Accelerates development of the English language in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Students will have opportunities to learn advanced vocabulary, reading, and writing in a small group of 10-12 students and receive individualized instruction. See flyer for more information.

Classes are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:05 p.m., except classes will be held on Friday, June 3. |

Attendance
Attendance is crucial. Each day of summer school will cover the work of over one week of regular school. In order to earn credit for a course a student may only be absent ONE day per session. There are NO excused absences in summer school. THREE tardies equals an absence; six tardies will result in no credit as will two absences or a combination of an absence and three tardies.
Final exams will NOT be administered early by any teacher.
Registration
Summer School brochures and registration forms are available in the guidance counselor’s office at each of the Sunnyside Unified District high schools, in the lobby and superintendant’s office of the Administration building (addresses below), and may be printed from this website. All registration forms need to be submitted and paid for at either of the District’s bookstores when registering prior to May 28.

Tuition
(no personal checks will be accepted)
Sunnyside District Students:
- 1/2 credit/1 session - $110
- 1 full credit/ 2 sessions - $220
- Transportation - $10
Out-of-District Students:
- 1/2 credit/1 session - $125
- 1 full credit/ 2 sessions - $250
- Transportation - $10
All bookstores can accept payment in the form of cash, cashier’s check, money order (made payable to SUSD Summer School). No personal checks will be accepted. Credit cards cannot be accepted.
*Your receipt is your registration confirmation. No registration confirmations are mailed home to the student. Teacher and room assignments are available the first day of summer school.
Refunds
Requests for refunds must be completed prior to the beginning of a course and must be in writing through the Secondary Curriculum Office, 520-545-2196.
Other Summer Programs
Project T.E.A.M. : Teaching, Enrichment, Academics and Mentoring.
Offering nutrition lessons, integrated physical activity education, reading & writing, tutoring/homework assistance, projects and group games. Project T.E.A.M. summer programs will run Monday-Friday, May 31 – August 8 at Craycroft, Gallego and Santa Clara elementary schools. Out-of-district students welcome.
