Project Graduation: The Digital Advantage has gained state and national attention for its impact on attendance, freshman promotion rates and especially high school graduation numbers. When Project Graduation was launched in November 2007, the district set a goal to have the 556 students on track in the fall graduate in May 2008. Through credit recovery courses and other interventions, 598 students earned diplomas. In 2009, a record high 715 students graduated. In 2010, 821 students graduated from the Sunnyside District.
 In a standing room-only celebration Aug. 25 attended by approximately 1,000 students and family members, the Sunnyside District launched its Digital Explorers program, a one-to-one computing initiative which assigns 1,431 netbook computers to every fifth-grade student. |
